Rural touring schemes work with professional companies, artists and performers to bring high quality arts events to rural and other communities . 

For many companies rural touring falls within the realm of small scale touring and it provides an exciting opportunity to access a huge network of promoters.  The challenge of performing in non dedicated art spaces is rewarded by reaching new audiences with new work.

Touring work to rural communities, performing in a welcoming environment to an audience, many of whom are neighbours, makes the activity specially memorable and significant.
