Many schemes are concerned about cuts in local authority funding as well as funding from other sources. In the case of local authorities the arts are a discretionary part of their spend and incremental cuts in budgets over the last few years have started to have an impact on arts budgets.
It is unlikely that this scenario will improve in the medium term and as a result we have produced a checklist of ideas schemes might wish to consider in 'making a case' for funding in their local areas - this is particularly with local authorities in mind.
Some of the ideas will have a link to examples of literature produced. This is to get the ball rolling. If you have ideas or examples that you believe have been very effective, talk to
Alice?xml:namespace>?xml:namespace> and we will endeavour to post them on this part of the website. If we share good advocacy practice, we can help each other. Please contact Ralph or the office in the first instance if you need further information or clarification.
